Mystic Melodies started as a pipe dream of a fourteen-year-old who had fallen in love with records in a tiny cafe and bookshop in West Texas. Her first record player was cheap and loved to literal pieces, but the divine connection between vinyl records and her was sealed. She scoured thrift shops and record stores for years to curate her perfect selection, but her desire to share the beauty of music pressed on vinyl grew to more than just a personal collection. 

The occult side of the business comes from her life-long fascination with the mystical aspects of the world. The shop offers a selection of goods useful for practitioners and those just a little curious about the secrets of the universe. As a practitioner and tarot reader herself, Mel can assist in crystal and herb selection, lunar phases and lingering spirits. She caters to open spiritual practices but has personal focus in Celtic and Greek pantheons. If she can't answer your question, she can guide you to another practitioner to assist.

Mel, better known as Melissa by her family, spent most of her childhood living in the United Kingdom, where she got a head start in the best music out there. By 20 she had been to 11 countries and fallen in love with each and every one of them. At Mystic Melodies you can find music and media in a variety of languages and products sourced from all over the world because of her lifelong love and desire for bringing cultures and communities together, especially through music. Through music, one can travel anywhere that the artist takes them, far away from blasting stereos or shitty headphones. While the accessibility of streaming music truly is a blessing, there is still something so beautiful about listening to a fresh pressed vinyl or a well loved oldie. It's something she's found defies generations and she hopes to continue on.

Mel's relationship with tarot began in her patrol car during endless midnight shifts while working through college as a security officer. A holographic Rider Waite brought her connection like she'd never felt before, and understanding she didn't think was possible. She loves to help new readers pick out their first deck or assist lifelong ones find a new partner.
